What is a Rain Garden?

Nature-based solutions that start at your doorstep.

Rain gardens are living systems that harness the power of nature to solve real-world problems. They slow floodwater, filter pollutants, cool the land, capture carbon, and create micro-habitats that support biodiversity. All while improving water quality and transforming grey space into green space.

Cleaner Seas Project works with individuals, businesses, schools and councils to co-create rain gardens that are both beautiful and functional nature-based solutions that deliver long-term value for money.

We see rain gardens as part of a bigger vision — one that blends environmental regeneration with social impact. That’s why we’re actively bringing rain garden projects to communities from Bude to London, Cardiff to Glasgow — including areas where green infrastructure can support wellbeing, education and opportunity.
